Paul J. Foster serves as Chief Operating Officer of the Board of the Global Esports Federation. He leads the Executive Office and a robust leadership team in establishing the foundation, strategic direction and development of the world’s esports organization.
With a demonstrated commitment to continued education and teaching, and following graduate and post graduate studies in Economics, Business, International Affairs and Protocol, Paul initially worked across the world for various global hotel brands and subsequently committed more than 20 years in the Olympic movement beginning in his hometown of Sydney in 2000. He has led teams in more than 12 Olympic Games, culminating with an extended tenure as Head of Protocol, Events and Hospitality at the International Olympic Committee in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Following his time with the Olympic movement, Paul established his strategic consulting firm - in London and Los Angeles – focusing on multi-disciplined portfolio consulting, driving organizational evolution, institutional transformation and helping global leaders evolve vision beyond the needs of the immediate.
Paul has worked one-on-one with business leaders, leading multi-national brand executives and global leadership; Sovereigns, Heads of State and Government, Members of Royal and Ruling Families, as well as Ministers and Cabinet Secretaries of multiple portfolios.
Paul served as Vice President of Protocol, Events, Ceremonies and Hospitality at Expo 2020 Dubai, pioneering the organization’s start-up activities, lifecycle planning, budgeting and vision-setting cycles. During 2017 and 2018, Paul held the post of Executive Director for the Operations Secretariat at the World Expo 2025 Baku Azerbaijan candidature. Directly prior to this assignment, Paul held other organizational leadership roles in Baku, as Director of Protocol for the Baku 2015 European Games and the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
In addition to Paul’s professional career, he contributes to academia as an Associate Professor and Lecturer in International Relations in Rome and New York; an Associate Fellow of the Catering Institute of Australia; and an advanced yoga teacher with E-RYT-500 qualifications with the Yoga Alliance.
