Sophie Lorant

Director of International Relations
Paris 2024

A graduate in International Relations from Sciences Po Paris, Sophie Lorant started her career working for NGOs in Mexico and Angola. She then worked as a journalist for major French TV news channels before creating her own audiovisual production company. In 2007, she joined the Cabinet of the French State Secretary of Urban Affairs as a Parliamentary Adviser.
Her career within the Olympic and Paralympic Movement began at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee, where she managed the relations with 53 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from Africa. She then moved to Azerbaijan, where she became Director of NOC Relations for the Baku 2015 European Games Operations Committee.
In 2015, she joined the Paris 2024 Bidding Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and was in charge of International Promotion and Relations. After a successful campaign, she became the International Relations Director for the Paris 2024 Organising Committee, and is now in charge of 5 departments: NOC/NPC Relations, Games Family Services, Protocol, Language Services and International Cooperation.
