Manasi Joshi

Indian Para-Athlete, Current Para-Badminton World Champion

Manasi Joshi is an Indian Para-Athlete, current Para- Badminton World Champion and a change-maker.

Beginning her professional journey in 2015, at present, she is ranked World No. 2 in Women Singles SL3.

An advocate of rights for people with disability, Manasi was recently listed as the Next Generation Leader 2020 by TIME Magazine and appeared in their Asia cover, making her the first para-athlete in the world and the first Indian athlete to receive such recognition.

On the occasion of the International Day of Girl Child 2020, Barbie celebrated Manasi and her achievements by modelling a one-of-a-kind (OOAK) Barbie doll to her likeness to inspire young girls.

She has also been recognised by BBC as one of the 100 most inspirational & powerful women across the world in 2020.

An Engineer by qualification, Manasi has worked as a Software Engineer with MNC, Banks, etc. and is presently employed with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. She is based out of Hyderabad, India, and she is currently preparing to qualify at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics to be held later this year.
