Paris, November 9th, 2020
Global Sports Week partnered with Yunus Sports Hub to host a virtual workshop as part of the selection process for the 2021 Young Sports Makers programme. The workshop took place on November 6th and brought together over 100 candidates of 28 nationalities based across the world.
Young athletes, social entrepreneurs, students and young professionals between 18 and 25 y.o. came together to learn about the vision of Global Sports Week and explore the business and societal shifts that have been impacting the sports industry.
Three Young Sports Makers 2020 alumnis joined the workshop to share their experience in the programme and their current projects with the new candidates.
The participants also learnt from the Yunus Sports Hubs leaders about sport and social business and how to communicate on the social purpose in sport.
The workshop included a challenge for the aspiring Young Sports Makers as they were asked to work in groups to design the sport of the future.
35 young leaders will be selected among the participants to represent the next generation during Global Sports Week 2021. They will be placed centre-stage during the event and will benefit from an unrivalled platform to raise their voice and make an impact, with direct access to leading figures from sport, business, media, entertainment and society.
The finalists will be announced in the course of November.
